Intake Program Manager

Community Services - Lowell 

 

Salary range: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00/year + Sign-on Bonus (half paid after 30 days of employment and the other half paid after 90 days of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

Start your management track while serving as the first point of contact some families will have with Wayside! The Intake Program Manager is responsible for the management, oversight, and daily operation of a insurance-funded program referrals providing community-based services for youth with mental health needs and their families.

What you will do: 

  • Coordinate referrals on behalf of a team made up of Clinicians, Youth and Family Support Workers, and outpatient therapists.
  • Liaison with families, community partners (e.g. DMH, DCF, schools, PCP offices, etc. ) and other mental health agencies to explain available services, screen for medical necessity criteria, receive and process referrals and refer to other providers or levels of care as needed.
  • Triage and assign referrals to the Lowell staff, considering referral needs, staff availability and expertise, and in coordination with other program managers at the site.
  • Maintain wait list for insurance-based services, including making check in calls to waiting families to assess changes in need.
  • Complete monthly data and reporting requirements.
  • Represent site at periodic utilization reviews and other quality improvement activities. Serve as a contact for insurance representatives on behalf of the youth served. The Intake Manager is a member of the program's management team and is committed to building and supporting a diverse workplace.
  • Supervision of para-clinical and clinical staff and interns if independently licensed.
  • Some direct service work with youth and families is part of the position.
  • Participate in internal agency committees, work groups, and other cross-program/cross-component activities.

  • Qualifications include a passion for, and a commitment to working with children and youth. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with youth with mental health needs.
  • Independent license and experience providing supervision preferred but not required. If not currently independently licensed, on track to become independently licensed.
  • Bilingual/Bicultural candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
